GENERAL MACHINIST - MANUAL LATHE OPERATOR

Overview

We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of GENERAL MACHINIST-MANUAL LATHE OPERATOR. Position is responsible for setting up and operating conventional and special-purpose machine tools, applying knowledge of machining theory and procedures, machining mathematics, machining capabilities of materials, and layout techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two-years experience in a production machining environment with experience in metal cutting preferred.
• Experience reading blue prints/design drawings.
• Experience using precision measurement tools.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Expectations

The qualified candidate will be expected to:

• Determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece, sequence of operations, & setup requirements.
• Have skills to read and interpret blueprints.
• Have skills to read and interpret engineering specifications.
• Have skills to read and interpret shop orders.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors.
• Verify conformance of finished pieces to specifications.
• Have the ability and flexibility to work additional hours and/or days as required.
