BUYER/PLANNER
Overview
We are currently seeking a BUYER/PLANNER to support our rapidly-growing, fast-paced, and detail-oriented team. The position reports to the Job Coordinator Manager and will require a candidate who has strong attention to detail, fast customer response, and ability to multi-task while re-prioritizing work daily. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or manager.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- One to four years of experience in a similar role within the procurement, inventory control, or supply chain field.
- Experience with an OEM environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with a variety of the purchasing, planning, and inventory management concepts, practices, and procedures such as Lean philosophies, Just-In-Time ordering, Reorder point inventory processes, Kanban concepts, scheduling, meeting production and assembly demands, and more.
- Experience with or understanding concepts of an ERP system.
- Intermediate to advance skills within the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Fundamental blueprint reading skills.
- Positive and professional communication and attitude.
- Ability to multi-task duties, to re-prioritize tasks daily, and to respond timely to internal customers.
The qualified candidate will be expected to:
- Review procurement and planning queues and analyze items for potential purchases and/or production while prioritizing by critical need.
- Create production and purchase orders and communicate with suppliers and internal customers to confirm on-time delivery, specifications, and prices to support company's supply chain while meeting optimal levels to maximize profit and sales.
- Be responsible for tracking jobs from the point of sale through shipment.
- Readily provide job status updates to internal customers.
- Recommend new sources and/or negotiate with suppliers on prices, deliveries, quality, and expectations as needed.
- Address any order changes and/or cancelations as appropriate and process any returns while addressing any associated fees.
- Work in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols.
- Identify and resolve readily-identifiable or clearly-defined issues.
- Demonstrate skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, and/or inconsistencies in routine research/data.
- Perform a variety of tasks as part of daily duties and provide routine administrative support for department as assigned.
- Work with general supervision while exercising judgment. May be paired with a mentor.
