MACHINIST

Overview

We are currently seeking a MACHINIST who will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operation of CNC and manual machines. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials and layout techniques, reading and interpreting blue prints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine set up, production methods and sequence of operations. First and second shift positions available.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have:

• High school diploma.
• Three years' experience in a production machine shop including experience operating CNC and manual machines; experience in a metal cutting environment preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• Experience using precision measurement tools.
• Experience in welding is a plus.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Expectations

The qualified candidate will be expected to:

• Have good oral and written communication skills.
  
• Have skills to read and interpret blueprints.
  
• Have skills to read and interpret engineering specifications.
• Have skills to read and interpret shop orders.
• Have skills to determine setup, production methods, and sequence of operations.
• Have the ability and flexibility to work additional hours and/or days as required.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors.
• Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
