MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Overview
We are currently seeking a MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER who will be responsible for assemblies and parts design for our products. In addition to design, the mechanical design engineer will provide necessary analysis for loads, stresses, etc. to ensure robust design.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- Three to five years' experience in designing OEM products. Printing and/or paper handling equipment experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge in 3-D machine design of automated machinery.
- A BS in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on machine design.
- Design experience in 3-D CAD; proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
- A solid technical background and results-oriented approach.
- A good work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently or with a team.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Expectations
The qualified candidate will be expected to:
- Execute design function for production or product development including:
- Executing layouts, assemblies, and details using Autodesk Inventor.
- Preparing Bills of Material and change notices.
- Ensuring accurate documentation is created for all projects.
- Ensuring that designs conform to company engineering standards.
- Conducting necessary analysis in support of design.
- Develop custom-designed equipment.
- Participate in and present at design reviews.
- Supervise others during detailing phases of a project.
- Ensure schedules are accurate and maintained.
