FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Overview
We are currently seeking a FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN who will be responsible customer-site installation, troubleshooting, and integration of EMT equipment. The successful candidate will possess good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills and be able to work well individually or with a team. Position requires ability to travel domestically and internationally and be on a 24/7 call rotation to service customers after normal business hours.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Three years (or more) field service experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge in the use of notebook computers and Microsoft Office software.
- Familiarity with 5S or other organizational methods.
- Familiarity with scheduling concepts.
- Exceptional mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional documentation skills to record test results.
- Electrical skills including the ability to interpret electrical schematics and PLC logic, and wire EMT equipment per electrical schematics.
- Basic machining skills including operation of milling machines, engine lathes, and measuring/inspection equipment.
- Ability to interpret detailed and assembly drawings.
- Exceptional machine/equipment assembly skills.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Expectations
The qualified candidate will be expected to:
- Install and repair EMT equipment in customer's facility using knowledge of mechanical and electrical machinery.
- Consult with engineering for improvements or problem resolution of machine design and deviation of machine operation from original specifications.
- Creatively concept ideas to make improvements to EMT equipment.
- Have the ability to take ideas from concept to prototype.
- Represent EMT favorably at all times.
- Work professionally with other personnel.
- Effectively interact with customers at all levels of their organizations.
- Effectively start up EMT equipment and prepare it for shipment to the customer.
- Operate machines or equipment through trial run at customer's facility ensuring quality and rate of production meets specifications.
- Train customer's personnel in adjusting, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
- Estimate length of tasks when given a defined scope of work.
- Assist other areas of the company when not traveling or testing EMT equipment; including, but not limited to assembly of mechanical, electrical or pneumatic components, machining of tools or performing minor maintenance, answering service-related calls from customers, preparing equipment manuals, and packaging of EMT equipment.
